But the amusement park project was almost finished. I didn't want to leave at

Around noon, while I was organizing my work, Kara scurried over and mysteriously asked, "Maddie, did you get your period last night?"

I glanced at her. "Am I not allowed to?"

"That's not what I'm saying." Kara shook her head like a rattle. "I was wondering why Mr. Gildon's mood is so foul today. It seems like he's frustrated."

Then, I tapped her on the head with my pen. "It's work hours. Focus on your work, and stop daydreaming."
