With Lacey’s company, Ellie’s mood improved significantly.

Two days later, Nancy arrived in Ameria, preparing to stay at the hospital to take care of Ellie.

Although Ellie had been refusing Nancy’s companionship, Nancy insisted on staying, not leaving until the day Ellie was ready to be discharged with her bandages removed.

As the doctor removed all the bandages from Ellie’s face, the startling scars on her face were revealed to everyone.

Ellie reached for a mirror, but Lacey took it first. Lacey hid the mirror behind her back, shaking her head with tears in her eyes. “Ellie, don’t look.”

After being discharged, Ellie insisted on returning to work at the hospital. It took her a great deal of effort to persuade Nancy and Lacey to board the plane.
