Two days later, Ellie was at work when a patient booked an appointment with her, specifically requesting her treatment.

Ellie entered the examination room only to find that the patient was Haley. Without hesitation, Ellie turned around and left the ward.

“Ellie, I’m just here for a consultation; you’re not going to be so guilty that you avoid me even for this, are you?” Haley taunted.

Hearing Haley’s provocative tone behind her, Ellie ignored her.

In the hallway, the director hurriedly stopped Ellie. “As a medical professional, you must treat all patients equally. You left that patient in the examination room, and she has complained about you.”

Ellie was reprimanded and reluctantly adjusted her emotions. For the sake of her job, she could only follow the director back to the examination room.
