Ellie glanced at Alex, then at Justin Warren, who was lying on the bed. She couldn’t help but frown. This was just too much of a coincidence.

“Wait, Uncle Alex, I haven’t seen you in over a decade! I just got back to the country and you’re already hitting me, huh?” Justin finally realized something was off and scrambled to sit up in bed.

Alex turned around to face Ellie. He met her cold gaze and seemed to hesitate, wanting to say something but holding back.

“I’ve left lunch here. I’ll leave you alone,” Ellie said in a tone that was as neutral as possible, trying to avoid further conflict.
