Alex was neatly dressed in a business suit, sitting in an office chair, spinning a pen in his hand, and focusing on the screen. His assistant, Chris, was taking notes beside him.

Ellie walked over to Alex’s desk and saw his injured leg in sweatpants. The cuff was rolled up to his knee, with his foot resting on a small stool.

Ellie couldn’t help but frown at the contrast between his formal upper body and casual lower half.

She squatted beside Alex’s leg, opened the medical kit quietly, and listened to him switch seamlessly between different languages. Carefully, she used scissors to cut off the messy bandages on his leg.

Alex sat upright, conducting the meeting with a straight face, occasionally glancing at Ellic.

He watched Ellie quietly tending to his wound, with her head bowed docilely, and he casually spun the pen in his hand.

With a soft “click“, the pen fell to the floor beside Ellie.

As Ellie picked it up, Alex leaned over.

In the confined space between the desk and Ellie, their eyes met, and Ellie handed the pen to Alex.

Seeing Alex took it, Ellie felt relieved inwardly.
