Chapter 567

Aaron quietly loosened his grip on her hand. “I rarely drink, and when I do, I can get a bit out of hand. My family knows about it.”

He recalled a time in college when he had drunkenly lectured a stray dog for three hours, and a video of that had been posted by his classmates, Since then, he had never let himself drink too much again.

That night at The Grant Manor, he had been careless. Diana noticed how flustered and shy Aaron looked and felt amused. This clumsy boy was simply embarrassed after sobering up.

“Aaron?” she said, gently lifting his chin with her hand. Just then, Aaron noticed a few colleagues peeking in through the car window, and he quickly pulled her hand away.

“Turn your face towards me; I have a question,” Diana insisted as she climbed onto the seat, kneeling on one knee and cupping his face with both hands.

“Sit back down; my colleagues are watching,” Aaron protested, placing his hands on her shoulders and trying to push her back into the passenger seat.

“Aaron, I’m upset!” Diana declared. When he pushed her back, she opened the car door and stepped out in frustration. He kept ignoring her. She decided to forgive him, yet he still acted so distantly.

Aaron hurried after her, blocking her path. “It’s dark; where do you think you’re going? Get in, I’ll drive you home.”

Diana replied, her high heels clicking angrily as she pushed Aaron aside.
