Apart from the two dogs, she had nothing else to call her own. She had chosen to bring the dogs along simply because she was certain that Alexander would never tolerate such pets in his home. Thus, they must be hers. They appeared to be the only possessions she could claim as she embarked on her journey.

Quinn's leg was injured, limiting her mobility. After a short walk, she found a suitable place to rest. She spent the remainder of the afternoon in idle solitude.

Eventually, she found herself in a park bustling with activity. It was the time when school had just let out, and parents were accompanying their children to the amusement park.

Quinn located an empty swing. She placed the puppies on the ground and seated herself on the swing, her gaze drifting towards the dark clouds looming in the sky.

Suddenly, two little girls appeared, squatting next to the dog cage and playfully teasing the puppies inside. "Miss, are these your dogs?" one of them asked.
