Kaitlyn crouched down, her face filled with disgust as she looked disdainfully at Quinn.

Quinn's eyes, wide and unblinking, were locked onto Kaitlyn, searching for any hint of her perceived transgression in the other woman's words.

However, Kaitlyn's response was cryptic, "I had every intention of ending your life, but seeing you in such a pitiful state, I've decided to let you stay here and contemplate your actions. You'll be released once Alexander is wed." Quinn's pupils dilated in confusion, her expression shifting rapidly. She understood each word Kaitlyn uttered, but when strung together, they made no sense to her. 'What does she mean... "once Alexander gets married"?

Kaitlyn's anger flared at Quinn's bewildered expression. "You dummy, stop playing the innocent! Every time I look into your eyes, I have the urge to gouge them out!"

as the guard brought a wooden board and blocked the small sliver of light in front of her. The board was wedged tightly into the stone

the board shaking slightly as Quinn pushed against it. But her cries of despair and pleas for mercy were swallowed up

almost hear the plea and despair emanating from the trembling figure. So,

her gaze drawn to the faint light in the corner. Tears streamed down her cheeks as the dim glow became her only beacon of hope in the engulfing darkness. For a moment, she imagined Alexander stepping out of the light, coming to her rescue as he had done before.
