Alexander awkwardly looked away, grabbed her hand, and scrambled up the tree.

They stopped about halfway up, squeezing onto a branch as thick as an arm, and peered down to check out the scene below. The wolves showed up, about ten of them, making a beeline for the dead wolves.

They chowed down on the bodies, taking their sweet time. It took them a good half hour to finish, leaving just a pile of bones.
