Luckily, Aurora didn't take long to come back. When she walked in and saw Landon and Abigail chilling, she smiled.

Abigail saw her chance, got up, and said, "Aurora, something came up. I can't stay for dinner. Gotta go."

Aurora quickly put down the dishes. "Why are you leaving so suddenly?"

"What could be so urgent that you can't even stay for dinner?" Aurora pressed.

"Why not? What if your wound is infected? It's not safe to go alone. Better to have someone with you," Aurora insisted.
