The following morning, Aurora was helping prepare food for a pack event when she overheard two wolves talking nearby. Their voices were low, but the intensity in their tones caught her attention.

"I don't know how Cassian keeps going after everything that happened," one wolf said. "If my mate had betrayed me like that, I don't think I'd ever trust anyone again."
