Alden secretly thought, ‘Oh, no.’ Duke was very special to his sister. Whenever she saw Duke, she would be automatically drawn to him.
He had made a mistake this time.
He quickly ran after Melody and instantly grabbed her arm.
“Mel, don’t run. Mom’s going to be worried.” Alden gently coaxed her. “Mom’s not well. If she’s worried about you, she won’t recover.”
Melody finally stopped running.
She walked up to the handrail in the hospital’s corridor and looked downstairs. She only looked away after Duke’s figure disappeared.

Alden looked down and clenched his fists tightly.
Duke Winters was very likely their father.
However, that man had made two women pregnant at the same time, so he was not qualified to be their father.
If his sister acknowledged Duke as her father, she could possibly be hurt once again. He did not want his mother and sister to get hurt.
He was a man. He would grow up soon, and he would take care of the family on his own.
After Adina received the infusion, she felt much better, but she was still quite dizzy. So, she decided to be discharged tomorrow.
Her two kids were very obedient. Alden led his sister to the other bed in the ward, and they slept there without a sound.
Flint sat by Adina’s bed and whispered, “I already sent some people to investigate the incident. The Daugherty family’s behind it.”
“I know.” Adina pursed her lips before she said, “Ethan went to the police station earlier. He identified the suspect, but they refused to admit a thing. They just said that they were horny, and they were not afraid of any sentence.”
“Since the Daugherty family has decided to go this far, they’re not afraid of being exposed,” Flint said coldly. “But now that they’ve resorted to dirty tricks, we can operate on the concept of an eye for an eye.” As he spoke, he took a stack of documents from behind him. “This is Daugherty Corporation’s customer list. They’re in contact with some important customers. Take a look.”
Adina frowned. “Where did you get this?”
