Chapter 3415 Island Watch Recruitment

"No need, but thanks for the offer." Matthew shook his head, turning down Bram's invitation.

"C'mon, don't reject me outright! The Island Watch is the only place on this island with benefits, health insurance, and paid vacation." Bram was about to keep talking, but the icy glint growing in Matthew's eyes stopped him short. With a nervous laugh, he meekly pulled out a business card and handed it over. Matthew took the card, checked it briefly to ensure it wasn't rigged, then pocketed it and turned to leave.

Watching Matthew's retreating figure, Bram sighed and muttered to himself. All he wanted was a decent front man for the Island Watch-why was it so hard?

At the northern dock of the island, a group of men in black-gray linen vests worked busily. Though they held a reputation as the most powerful group on the island, they were, in reality, just laborers.

When Matthew, in his casual clothes, appeared at the dock, he immediately drew their attention.

Standing tall, Matthew scanned the crowd before asking, "Excuse me, are you still hiring here?" The men, who had initially looked tense and even murderous, suddenly burst into laughter.

"Where'd this little punk come from? Get lost before we decide to get mad!"
