Ava could tell that those were the voices of her colleagues in the same department.
“Everything makes sense now. Who would dare to do that without being in that kind of relationship?”

The two people Maisie called out yesterday, Fiona and Kendra, were gossiping loudly and unrestrainedly i n the elevator. They even mentioned Maisie by name.
There were a lot of employees from other departments as well, and a lot of them heard their conversation. Then, they messaged their colleagues about this. Soon, this news spread to everyone.
Ava could not listen to this anymore, so when the elevator arrived at their floor, she followed her two colleagues out
“Fiona, Kendra,” she called out to the two women in front of her.
Fiona and Kendra stopped walking and eventually realized that Ava was also in the elevator.

“It’s all over the internet now. Maisie and Mr. Lowe are in that kind of relationship.”
“What kind of relationship?” Ava wanted to get to the bottom of this. “What kind of relationship are you talking about? Can you just tell me?”
“Ava, are you really that stupid?” Fiona peered at Ava and took out her phone to zoom into the online news report to show Ava.

“Look, what kind of relationship do you think they have?”
Ava lowered her eyes to take a look. She did not know how this news got out but it said that Maisie and the boss of their company, Tom Lowe, were having an affair with each other.
It even said that to cheer Maisie up, Tom fired the employees of her department unfairly.
After she clicked into the news report to read more of it, there were also a lot of obscenities and disgusting descriptions.
The more Ava read it, the angrier she was. Then, she gave the phone back to Fiona and rushed back to the pantry.
