Cherise rolled her eyes playfully at Mandy's teasing. Of course, Damien, with his massive ego, would never admit to the crazy things he had done for her!

Cherise cleared her throat softly. "Oh, I know that, of course! But..." She smiled mischievously at Mandy, adding, "I'm just a bit bored right now. How about we chat a bit more? I want to relive some of the silly things my husband did for me back then."

Mandy kept her calm. "Hmmm, craving some fruit all of a sudden. Any chance..."

Cherise cut her off, already throwing on her coat. "Strawberries coming right up! A quick wash, and they'll be yours! Just wait!"

"Sounds good!" Mandy settled on the bay window seat, basking in the warm sun and the peaceful view.

Suddenly, a jolt shot through her as she spotted a familiar figure in the parking lot below. Her brow furrowed, and her body tensed. As if sensing Mandy's stare, the woman looked up, a fleeting smile gracing her lips before turning away.
