Leilani's certainty grew with every moment of Yvette's silence, convincing her she had the upper hand. It didn't matter to Leilani how influential or untouchable Yvette might seem-one thing was clear to her-Yvette feared Demetrius.

Desperate to assert her authority, Leilani shed every ounce of her socialite composure in a desperate attempt to assert dominance. "I don't care if you're a guest of the presidential palace," she barked. "You'd better apologize. Do you even realize how important Mr. Becker is?"

Leilani knew that she wasn't technically his fiancée, but her family and the presidential palace were in the midst of discussing a marriage alliance. She believed Demetrius would agree to it eventually. It was only a matter of time. Even if she said yes, there was no one else around to contradict her. With that thought, Leilani nodded with unwavering conviction. "That's right, I'm Mr. Becker's fiancée," she declared.
