She looked at them with fear in her eyes and asked, “Did Aiden send you here?”

The leader of the pack stared at her and declared, “It doesn’t matter who sent us here. We came here today to teach you a lesson so that you learn to watch your mouth in the future.”

He turned to his men and roared, “Hold her down and give her a good slap! Each one of you, give her ten good slaps and only stop after she learns to keep her mouth shut!”

He took a step back and let the men go to work.

Two of them came forward to hold Sherry down. Sherry saw an opening and jabbed the tip of her heels at one of them, then she tried to crawl away on her wounded leg while crying out for help at the top of her voice, “Help! Help!”
