Chapter 1014

Victoria was always the most selfish one in the Dorsey family. Sure, Michael was sneaky and underhanded, but at least he kept the family afloat back in the day. And when it came to his only daughter, he pretty much spoiled her rotten. Even though Michael didn't think much of girls, he let Victoria have a lot of freedom. That's probably why, once she set her sights on Everett, she chased him everywhere, leading to that mess later on.

Victoria was sprawled on the couch when she heard the front door creak open. Her eyes flicked around, and she jumped up, shoving all her dirty clothes under the couch.

The maids had quit a week ago because they couldn't handle her constant nitpicking.

It had to be Everett coming back. She was sure he still had feelings for her. I mean, even a cat or dog gets attached after so many years, right? So, how could he not?

Everett, looking sharp in his suit, stood at the entrance. Compared to Victoria's worn-out look, he seemed like a brand-new man. He walked in with a certain energy, heading straight upstairs.

He was here to pack. He'd been paying investigators to track down his first love and their child, but the Dorseys had always blocked him. Now that the family had fallen, he had found out his child was alive and doing well. A son, and a successful one at that. But his first love had died young, a regret he would carry forever. Still, he was determined to meet his son.

"Everett, you came back to see me!" Victoria exclaimed, rushing to hug him.
