Chapter 1098

Moving to the manor took less than an hour. Isaac had been here before and knew the place like the back of his hand. The moment they arrived, he whisked Noir off to the backyard.

Behind the manor was a hill that led to the highlands. When Dad wasn't around, Isaac used to take Noir on little adventures up there. Now, back at the manor, Isaac was over the moon, disappearing in a flash.

Brielle, on the other hand, felt uneasy the minute she walked in. The space was vast, but she felt suffocated, like she was trapped in a maze of panic she'd never escape. She clung to King, her hands tightening as she scanned the surroundings warily.

The manor was pretty empty; apart from the occasional servant delivering meals, there were no outsiders. Outside, though, there were plenty of bodyguards and cleaning staff. Brielle was clearly not a fan of the place, but King tried to comfort her, gently stroking her back. "This place is beautiful, isn't it? We could even have our wedding here."
