Chapter 1495

Dustin sat there, casually tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. Peyton walked in, cradling a baby, her emotions swinging between laughter and tears.

"Dustin, look, Emma's given us a baby," she said, still a bit unsure about calling him by his first name but feeling that Mr. Lynch was too formal.

Dustin stood up, clearly out of his element. This man, the youngest CEO of Infinity Brilliance, who could stand toe to toe with the likes of Max, now wore a look of panic on his face. Seeing the two wrinkly little faces brought close to him, he reached out, wanting to hold one but feeling unsure about how to do it right.

He felt like a failure, having been preoccupied with another woman just days before his future wife gave birth. Now, facing Emma after she had narrowly escaped death to bring their children into the world, he felt a deep sense of guilt.

Peyton mistook his hesitation for disapproval of the babies' appearance and quickly reassured him. "Babies always look a little wrinkly when they're first born. Give them a few days, they'll grow into their looks."
