I was too gone to care about anything except the way Kester's strong arms wrapped around me.

The heat, the exhaustion, the absolute ruin of it all had me slumping against his chest, my body boneless and weak.

Sleep was dragging me under, pulling me into a place of warmth and exhaustion, but then Kester's gruff voice yanked me out of my daze.

"You do realize what you just did, don't you?" He asked, and my eyes fluttered, barely

managing to stay open.

I tried to lift my gaze, but it felt impossible. The heaviness in my limbs, the

aftershocks of pleasure, made me sluggish. Too slow.

"What are you talking about, Kes?" I asked, my brows narrowed as my eyes scanned his desperately, hoping he was just trying to pull my legs. But, sadly, Kester never pulls anyone's legs. Whatever he says is always serious business. He ran his thumb over my lips, scooping the last trace of my blood, brought it to his mouth, and licked it off with a slow, agonizing swipe of his tongue.
