Oliver's voice was another ear-piercing blast, deafening as Shay covered her face and ran away.

Oliver swung open the passenger door and helped Josefina out. Josefina spoke with displeasure, "You did that on purpose."

His voice was tender and doting as he replied, "Only way to let everyone know I'm taken, and no one can mess with my love life." He lifted Josefina out, and she, startled, clung to his neck. Shay, from a distance, watched the entwined figures, her heart turning to ice.
