Lena couldn't shake the feeling that Dorian was messing with her on purpose.

Josefina was good at so many things, but when it came to Lena, all she got was a vague “everyone has their strengths." Like, seriously? As if Lena was good for nothing.

Holding back her frustration with a practiced smile, Lena said, "Dorian, I'm not here to intrude. Why don't you try this herbal tea I made and give me your thoughts?"

"Sure," Dorian replied, though he didn't sound particularly enthusiastic.

Once Lena left, Dorian glanced at the fruit-infused tea with little interest. What he really needed was a strong cup of coffee.

At the crack of dawn, the Harrison family gathered around the breakfast table, and Lena was running herself ragged.

She served oatmeal to Grandpa Robert, dished out bird's nest soup for Hattie, and poured Garrett a tall glass of milk. When she got to Dorian, she made sure to brew him a strong coffee, taking care of everyone's needs.

Annika watched Lena whirl around like a top, knowing exactly what she was up to. Lena was just taking advantage of Josefina's absence to win the Harrison family's favor.

Annika made sure to report Lena's every move to Josefina, keeping her informed of all the goings-on.

After finishing her report, Annika placed her homemade shrimp cakes on the table, which everyone loved.

Ms. Josefina told me about everyone's preferences, so I try to mix things up. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after all." Hattie put down her utensils, "I miss Josie. I wonder when she'll be back." Annika replied, "I just messaged Ms. Josefina to ask when she'll return and what she'd like for dinner. She said she should be home by four or five
