After Cole and his wife wrapped up their speech and stepped down from the stage, Selena, clutching a glass of wine, made her way over to them. She started by offering her heartfelt congratulations on their marriage and then apologized for any chaos she might have accidentally caused at their wedding. No one wanted to stir up trouble at someone else's big day, even if it wasn't intentional.

Thankfully, Cole and Everett were on good terms, and both families were tight-knit, so they accepted her apology graciously.

Selena had been drinking a bit too much, and the effects were starting to hit her. While she still had some presence of mind, she said, "I'm sorry, but I'm not great with alcohol. I should probably call a night."

Cole's wife was very understanding. She had heard rumors that Mr. Bennett didn't give a hoot about Selena, but seeing it firsthand was still a shock. Any woman in that situation would be driven up the wall, right? Yet, Selena managed to keep her cool despite everyone's odd stares, which was pretty impressive.

With newfound respect, Cole's wife gently offered, "Mrs. Bennett, let me arrange a car to take you home." Everett had left earlier and probably took the car with him. Since Selena had been drinking, Cole's wife was worried about her safety on the way back. Selena appreciated her kindness but politely declined, "Thank you, but I have a driver. Everett left one for me."

Cole's wife smiled. "Alright then, take care and get home safely."

Selena left the yacht and stood at the harbor. The night breeze was exceptionally chilly, and her thin dress did little to protect her, giving her goosebumps. But she seemed oblivious, slowly making her way towards the main road.
