In the blink of an eye, Selena felt a strong hand grip her chin, almost crushing it, as he turned her face towards him. He growled in her ear, "Selena, make sure you know who your man is. Are you really turning your back on me?" Selena, equally fired up, shoved him away forcefully. "And what if I am? I just can't stand your attitude!"

Her unapologetic and bold response made Everett's hands shake with anger. "What attitude?"

Selena let out a series of mocking laughs. "You know exactly what!"

She turned to leave, but Everett grabbed her wrist again, pulling her back and pinning her against a tree to keep her from getting away, caging her in front of him. He looked down at her, his eyes cold, "Spell it out. Don't throw baseless accusations at me!"
