When Selena hit the ground, blood oozed from her thigh, leaving a stain on the floor. Rebecca must have noticed it.

Rebecca had started the commotion and pushed her. Selena deserved some payback, but if she told Everett the truth, he would probably go to Rebecca for answers. His handsome face would turn icy, and Rebecca would spill everything.

Selena worried Rebecca might say something she shouldn't, drawing Everett's attention. He was too sharp for his own good, and Selena couldn't afford to let her guard down.

Settling the score with Rebecca could wait; keeping the child a secret was her main concern now.

Selena tried to brush it off, replying casually, "It was just a little fender bender, nothing major."
