“Who’s this gentleman?” she asked, pretending that she didn’t know him. Penny first glanced at George shyly before responding, “He’s my friend, George Parsons.” She then introduced Aleena to George, “George, she’s one of my brother’s friends, Aleena Jones.”
George too cast a glance at Aleena with a barely noticeable disdainful smirk on his face as though he was mocking her for the fact that she was only Silas’s friend, and not his girlfriend. Aleena looked sullen in response and for some reason, she felt her face burning in embarrassment. With an awkward chuckle, she greeted him, “Nice to meet you!”
