Selene froze for a moment, pursing her lips tightly.

“Let me be more direct,” I said with a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. “Have you two slept together?”

“Elaine, how can you say something like that?” Selene’s pale face

Honestly, the act she was putting on was pathetic. She should have been bold, assertive. Instead, she acted like she was innocent even as she did something so shameless. It was as if she wanted to play both the victim and the villain in the same breath.
