Logan skimmed through my resignation letter and flung it onto the table with an irritated thud. His narrowed eyes bore into me. “Elaine, you’re getting more and more out of line.”

He still thought I was being difficult on purpose.

But the truth was, from the moment I met Logan until now, I had never caused him trouble–not once.
