My hand hesitated before reaching for the handle but I grasped it firmly, feelin cold metal press against the

skin of my palm, before I turned it simultaneously taking in a breath. The second that I had pushed open that door, Dante’s head had snapped up to look at who ever it had been that dared to interrupt him in such a harsh

His face was unreadable even as he took all of me in from the top of my head to the tip

of the shoes that I had been wearing. His eyes assessed me at his leisure and I couldn’t fathom what had possibly been going through his mind.

I saw him blink a few times trying to figure out if he had been imagining what he was seeing or if I was actually standing in the door way of his study.
