When they got in the car, Isabella wasted no time. She immediately sat down in the back seat and sent a message to Julia.

Maggie saw the message but didn't speak.

Der a while, Julia replied, saying she only had a cold and that it wasn't a big deal.

However, Julia's voice still sounded hoarse, and Isabella was still worried. She immediately texted her, telling her that she'd visit her after school.

As soon as she sent the message, Isabella felt a little guilty.

She hadn't eaten Maggie's cooking in a long time and had originally planned to have dinner with Maggie tonight.

But fortunately, she hadn't mentioned it yet.

Thinking of this, she sneaked a glance at Maggie, relieved to see that she hadn't noticed her concern.

When they arrived at school, Isabella gave Maggie a warm hug. "Mom, I'm going inside now."

"Mm."

Isabella didn't notice Maggie's indifference and skipped happily into the school.

Shortly after, Maggie received a message saying that Franklin had something urgent to attend to, and the meeting scheduled for 10 AM had been postponed to the afternoon.

The "urgent matter" was, in fact, him personally going to take care of Julia's illness.
