Chapter 37 Go Through Divorce Procedures
After Nancy finished speaking, she looked at him with big eyes.
She didn’t lie. She really wanted him to send her home.
Nicholas seemed a little surprised but soon returned to normal. He stretched out his hand to caress her hair. He softly spoke as if coaxing a child, “Don’t be stubborn. I’ll be home to accompany you at night.”
“Okay.” Nancy nodded. “Then, let Lynn send me home.”
She didn’t ask any more questions or argue.
She was so well-behaved that she didn’t say a word of resistance.
Lynn quickly sent Nancy home but didn’t know that Nancy didn’t even go in. As soon as he left, she took a ride and left.
Nancy went to “Encounter”.
Encounter is a bar owned by Luke Foster. She and Nicholas had been there twice before.
It’s huge inside. The layout and decoration were in the style she liked. More importantly, it’s very quiet, less noisy than the regular bar.
People often performed on the stage, accompanied by guitar or piano, singing some gentle songs, which she liked.
Nancy found a place closest to the stage and sat there. Her gentle face was immersed in the soft light, her chin resting on one hand, listening to the music quietly.
She didn’t know what she wanted to do. She just didn’t want to go home.
She is not a canary, so why should she obey him obediently?
Why should she return to the cage obediently if he let her go home?
After drinking two cups of hot water, Nancy lay on the table, sleepy and tired.
She fell asleep immediately after lying down. Perhaps it was too quiet, or she was too tired.
When Nicholas returned home, he found the house utterly dark, without a single light.
He turned on the light in the living room and searched around but couldn’t find Nancy.
Finally, he made a phone call with a frown.

He heard, “The phone you dialed has been turned off. Please call again later.”
He immediately called Lynn, “You’d better give me an explanation. Where is Nancy?”
“Mr. Sallow, isn’t the Mrs. Sallow at home? I took her home myself.”
