Just then, the elderly man operating the boat ride along the river docked his boat. Nancy quickly used this as a distraction by pointing at the boat and saying, “Look! The boat’s back. Let’s take a ride.”

As they ran, a cool breeze drifted over, carrying the fresh fragrance of flowers. They both felt rejuvenated by the wind.

Nancy chuckled and beamed. “What a lovely floral fragrance. It’s light but pleasant.”

Nicholas turned his head around. His dark eyes fell on Nancy’s face.
