Chapter 66

“You have to take it out…” Calen suddenly said.

“What?” Monica frowned, her face twisting in disbelief. “What did you–you want me to take it out?” Why was he talking as if there wasn’t a child inside her but some sort of garbage that she could dispose of anytime? “You want me to take it out?” she chuckled, disbelief filling her gaze.

He glared at her in response. “Did you really think I’m gonna marry you or something?”

“Calen, this is your child, and you want me to kill it?”

“Who knows whose child that is?”

Monica opened her mouth. “You” She didn’t know what to say, Was this the same Calen she had been seeing for the past few months? The same man who had slept with her in the same bed countless times?

Monica clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she stared at him. The disbelief in her eyes quickly gave way to anger. “You’re unbelievable,” she said, her body trembling as she stepped closer to him.

Calen crossed his arms, his jaw tight. “What’s unbelievable is you thinking I’d fall for this. Do you really think I’m that stupid, Monica? I fucking know you are trying to trap me!”

She let out a humorless laugh and shook her head. “Trap you? You think I want to spend the rest of my life dealing with you? Don’t flatter yourself, Calen. I just thought you’d have the decency to take responsibility for your own actions.”

“My actions?” He scoffed, taking a step toward her. “This is your mess. Who knows who else you’ve been sleeping with? Don’t act like you’re some innocent victim here. And don’t you fucking think that I am going to ruin my life because of some slut!”

Monica’s hands shot up to her head, gripping her hair in frustration before dropping them to her sides. She glared at him, her chest rising and falling with quick breaths. “You’re disgusting” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I wasn’t expecting you to marry me, Calen. God, no. But I thought-” She stopped, shaking her head as tears brimmed in her eyes.
