Her hand froze halfway to her mouth, the lo mein slipping slightly between the chopsticks. She quickly cleared her throat and focused on her plate, choosing not to respond.

She decided to let it go, focusing instead on her food. She turned away and cleared her throat. “So, do you do this often?” she asked, changing the subject.

“Do what?” he asked, picking up a piece of broccoli.

“Surprise women with takeout dinners under the stars,” she said, smirking as she gestured toward the setup.

Liam wasn’t just attractive–he had the physique of a model and the face of a god. It was easy to imagine women flocking to him wherever he went, both locally and abroad. The thought unexpectedly irritated her, and she found herself frowning slightly.
