A strange pressure built inside Izzy’s head, dull at first, then heavier, like a dense fog clouding her senses.

Frederik was speaking, but his voice sounded distant–an echo bouncing inside her skull. She shook her head, trying to clear it, but the dizziness only worsened.

The lights of the hallway blurred. Her body swayed slightly, unsteady.

Frederik’s expression shifted. His smirk disappeared. His brows furrowed. He took a step forward.

“Are you all right?”

Izzy barely processed the words before her balance gave out.

The floor felt uneven beneath her feet, and a sudden wave of nausea hit her.

Something was wrong.

She tried to steady herself, but her limbs felt heavy, her movements sluggish.

Frederik reached out, but before he could touch her, two large men appeared beside them.

“Step away,” one of them said firmly.

Frederik’s eyes narrowed. His hand dropped to his side as he turned to face them.

“Who the hell are you?”

Neither man answered. They moved swiftly, supporting Izzy on both sides. She barely had the strength to resist as they led her toward the entrance.

A sleek black car pulled up to the curb.

Frederik took a step forward. “This is illegal,” he snapped. “I can call the police.”

One of the men pulled out an ID and held it up. “We are Miss Rossi’s personal security.” He tucked the badge away and handed Frederik a card. “If you have concerns, you can contact the security firm.”

Frederik stared at the card, his jaw tight.

The two men carefully helped Izzy into the car. One of them closed the door behind her. Without another word, the car sped off, disappearing into the night.

Frederik gripped the card tightly, his fingers curling around the edges. His expression darkened.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

“Look into this security company,” he ordered.

As soon as the call ended, he dialed another number.
