Chapter 151

Izzy shook her head, setting her glass down with a soft clink. “It’s not worth it,” she said, exhaling slowly. “Let it go, Maria”

Maria raised an eyebrow. “Not worth it?”

“Dragging this through a lawsuit won’t change anything,” Izzy continued, “Besides, I already have a meeting set with the board of Rossi Group.” She leaned back against the booth, crossing her arms. “There’s no point in wasting time on Weiss Inc. anymore.”

Maria watched her for a moment, then shrugged. “If that’s your choice.” She took a small sip of her drink before smirking slightly. “Just remember, I’m here if you change your mind. Anytime.

Izzy’s lips quirked into a faint smile. “I know. Thanks.”

She picked up her glass again, swirling the whiskey lazily, the amber liquid catching the light. The burn of the alcohol was starting to numb the edge of her frustration, replacing it with a dull warmth that spread through her chest.

She was just about to lift the glass to her lips when a hand closed gently but firmly around her wrist.

Izzy blinked, glancing up in surprise. Her eyes met a familiar pair of cold, gray ones.

Liam stood there, his expression unreadable. The dim lighting cast shadows across the sharp lines of his face, but even in the half–dark, his presence was unmistakable.

Maria smirked slightly. “Well, look who decided to drop by,” she said, leaning back in her seat. “Good to see you, Mr. Horvath

Liam inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment before turning his gaze back to Izzy.

Izzy stared at him for a moment, caught off guard. Then her surprise melted into a smile. “I didn’t know you were back in the country,” she said, easing her wrist out of his grasp.

“My flight just landed,” Liam replied, his eyes scanning her face briefly as if checking for something.

Izzy pursed her lips and shifted to the side, patting the empty space beside her. “Then sit,” she said simply.

Liam hesitated for half a second before sliding into the booth next to her, the faint scent of his cologne mingling with the rich aroma of whiskey and gin.

María chuckled, tipping her glass slightly. “It’s always good to see you two,” she said, eyes gleaming with mild amusement. “Though I can’t say I expected it here, of all places.”

Izzy huffed softly but didn’t comment, too focused on the warmth radiating from Liam’s side. Inwardly, she was surprised by just how much she’d missed him. The steady, grounding presence he brought–one that made the frustration and betrayal of earlier seem less suffocating.

Líam glanced at the half–empty glass of whiskey in front of her, his eyes narrowing slightly. “You’ve had enough?” he asked.

Izzy rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the small smirk that tugged at her lips. “You’re not my keeper,” she muttered, but she made no move to take another sip.

Maria snorted into her gin and tonic, clearly amused. “I should get going,” she said, stretching slightly. “I have an early morning tomorrow.”

She slid out of the booth with a lazy grace, pausing briefly to tap a manicured nail against the table. “Take care of her, will you, Mr. Horvath?” she said with a smirk.
