Avery’s pov

Kyan pushes off the wall, and the tension in his jaw told me he was. grounding his teeth. I looked at him nervously.

“I couldn’t find you so I tracked you down,” he spat, shoulders rising and falling as he shook with fury. I press my back to the wall, my heart racing.

His upper lips curl into a snarl when I do not respond. The thing is I am not sure how to respond. “Imagine my surprise when I can hear you two in there,” he spat those words out.
