Ashlyn gritted her teeth and furrowed her brows.

A flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes, but quickly, she remembered.

Every time this color deepened, the beads of sweat on Ashlyn's forehead increased.

It felt as if thousands of ants were gnawing at her. The pain was unbearable.

Looking at his bloody wrist, her eyes welled up with tears. Regret surged in her heart. “Lucas, did you leave your brain at home when you went out? Does... Doesn't it hurt?”

That was a dumb question.

How can it possibly not hurt?
