Helen went to the door.

"Aunt Helen, I'm home." Rachel ran into Helen while holding a plastic bag. She quickly forced a smile and said, "Willow is working overtime today so she won't be coming home. I bought some vegetables at the supermarket. Have these for dinner." Willow had told her to tell her mother and aunt that she was working overtime. They mustn't find out that she was being locked up, or they would worry.

Rachel wasn't used to lying, so she was thinking of what she should say.

She went to the supermarket on her way back to buy some ingredients. That way, Helen and Lara would be too busy to ask her questions.

"If Willow is working overtime, does that mean she's not coming home for dinner?" Helen took the plastic bag and then looked over Rachel's shoulder. "Where are the kids?"
