Maximus had spent the past few days consumed with Peter’s situation at the hospital. Dr. Hill had informed him that Peter had left the country, a decision that worried her greatly. She warned Maximus that the episodes of confusion would persist and that, while he couldn’t make decisions for his brother, they needed to find a way to manage him before something dangerous happened.

Theodore, seeing the severity of the situation, agreed that Peter needed to be admitted to a facility and that the surgery had to be scheduled. His longtime friend could no longer go on like this; he was a danger to himself and potentially to others.

To make matters worse, Maximus was blindsided by the news that Frank Levett had taken control of Palmer Group. A week had passed since the announcement, and he still didn’t know exactly how it had happened. Quietly, he’d asked for an investigation into the matter.

The only person he could trust for this task was Matthew. However, Matthew was still recovering from the injuries he’d suffered during the brutal beating orchestrated by Leonardo.

Amid the chaos, the question of Leonardo’s whereabouts loomed over everything. How had Frank managed to wrest power from him? The answer had to involve one of the cunning schemes Frank had inherited from his father. Otherwise, how could Leonardo have relinquished control?
