At the airport, Alden and the children were escorted by a driver and a team of guards. A private jet was already waiting for them, prepared to take them anywhere they wanted.

As they boarded, Alden found bags of clean clothes, hot food, and blankets ready for them. Once the children were fed, cleaned up, and settled, Alden finally allowed himself a moment to breathe. He decided to use the phone he’d taken from the man he’d killed to call Frank Levett. But before he could dial, the phone started ringing–almost as If Frank had anticipated the call. Alden hesitated but picked up on the tenth ring.

“Surprise!” Alden said coldly. “You’d better find the best filing spot you can, Frank Levett, because it won’t be me coming after you. Marcus Bartz’s already on your trail and has you squarely in his sights–especially now that the kids are with me.”

Without waiting for a reply, Alden hung up and tossed the phone into a bucket of water. Now that the loose end was dealt with, he instructed the pilot to take off. Their destination: the United Arab Emirates, where the children would be safe while Alden left the next steps to Marcus. He knew that, in Marcus’s hands, things would spiral into chaos for Frank–and that’s exactly what Frank deserved.

As the plane soared into the sky, Alden mulled over his next move. After a long pause, he dialed Marcus Bartz directly. On the other end, Marcus was in the middle of torturing Frank Levett Sr., forcing him to listen to the recorded screams of Lucia’s suffering. When he saw Alden’s name flash on his phone, Marcus stormed out of the room and answered.

“Alden! Where are you?”

“Marcus, I have the kids. I’m taking them somewhere safe. John wants to talk to you.”
