Chapter 1042

Another day passed at the Evans residence. The family was gathered for breakfast while Diana ran around in a rush, realizing she was running late for work. Maximus, ever the bad influence, kept telling his future wife not to worry so much, but it was impossible–Diana was always incredibly respectful of other people’s time, and today she had an early meeting.

“I’m off… See you later, love,” Diana said, giving him a quick kiss and grabbing a piece of bread for breakfast.

Anticipating his fiancée’s laziness when it came to eating in the morning, Maximus had already placed a coffee and some French toast in her car. When Diana got in and noticed, she felt a sudden warmth in her chest. From the car, she called out, “I love you!”

Maximus waved and smiled. Once she drove off, he went back inside the mansion, where everyone was gathered at the table. The overwhelming noise of Maurice and Paul, combined with Adele’s babbling and squeals, was driving Magnus and Matthew crazy. The two older men preferred to step outside and take in some fresh air, pretending to smoke a cigarette just to avoid the chaos.

These two had found a way to tolerate each other’s company, a certain unspoken camaraderie forming between them. While Maximus thrived in the deafening noise of his children, the two old men enjoyed the peace of the garden.
