I could hear voices coming from inside the room. It was not particularly loud. The conversation revolved around work matters. About half an hour later, Estella opened the office door and walked out of the room carrying a stack of documents. She seemed bewildered to see me. Then she said with a smile, "Mrs. Roberts, when did you arrive?"

I smiled and said, "Well, I've been here for quite a while now. I did not go in as you guys were busy."

"Mr. Roberts was reviewing documents," she said. "We have a lot on our plate lately. Hence, he may not have much time for you. When we're done, he'll be able to spend more time with you." "Alright," I replied, giving her a small smile.

Hendrix walked out of the room, likely because he heard my voice. He raised his eyebrows and flashed a stifled smile when he saw me. "What did you bring over?"

Holding up the food, I looked at him before directing my gaze at Estella. "I heard that you have been preparing sweet snacks for Mr. Roberts lately," I said. "The girls from the marketing department told me. I love sweet snacks. Do you have them prepared today? Can I have some?"

The smile on her face stiffened for a moment. "I noticed Mr. Roberts didn't eat lunch just now," she replied. "So I gave him the snacks. He has a history of stomach problems. I'm worried that he may have a stomach ache if he goes without any food for too long. Why don't you come over another day, Mrs. Roberts, and I'll prepare some snacks for you as well."
