Chapter 1966

The ride to the hospital was very quiet. Soon, we arrived.

After getting out of the car, I pretended to tie my shoelaces so that I was a couple of steps behind Hendrix.

Hendrix stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at me. His eyes looked cold. "Arianna, do you have a heavy rock tied to your legs?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "That's none of your business. The hospital is small, I won't get lost."

For some reason, Hendrix kept nagging at me.

His face darkened as he stood there, staring at me.

I wasn't in the mood to entertain him. So, I lifted my chin and walked past him. I was now walking ahead of him.

I quickened my pace. Truth was, I was upset. Hendrix followed closely behind me.

Even though I didn't have eyes in the back of my head, I could feel him staring daggers at me from behind. It made me uncomfortable.
