Chapter 1978

I accompanied Wynn in the backseat while Hendrix sat in the front, each of us tacitly choosing to keep quiet about Aaron.

Wynn and I had endless topics to talk about whenever we were together. As soon as we got in the car, Wynn began to share about his time at school.

Suddenly, my mind drifted over to Aurelia while we were waiting for the traffic light, so I interrupted him and asked, "Wynn, you don't like the kids at school because you think they're boring, right? So, what if you had a sister who was also very childish, would you hate her as well?"

"Of course not." Wynn shouted back without any hesitation, "I will protect my sister and stay with her all the time, and I will never let her get bullied by other people!"

Despite his tender tone, he spoke firmly. Anyone can see how much he cared about his sister.

I rubbed his head and gave him a look of approval. "It's so amazing to see Wynn grow up and become a man!"

When I turned my head away, I caught a glimpse of Hendrix peeking at us from the rearview mirror.

When I noticed him, he quickly averted his gaze. All I could see in the mirror after that was his cold, frosty face.
