Chapter 2043

We entered the basement through the garage. Aaron's guards were stationed nearby in casual uniform. This alone would scare off Nathan's accomplices who wanted to rescue Nathan and his wife. Hendrix had been supporting me with his arm as we walked down into the basement. It was lit up by a dim, yellow light. After making about four turns, we finally saw Nathan and his wife in an underground cage.

Upon entering, I was able to see the man and woman locked up in a cell.

Nathan was still in his pajamas. He had obviously been taken right from his home. Inside the dark cell, he stood stubbornly and refused to get dirty by the dust on the ground, keeping every bit of his noble upbringing present.

Suanne also refused to sit down. Her face looked pale without makeup, and she looked very distracted. She was like a piece of paper stuck to an iron fence, ready to collapse at any time.

It seemed like they had been standing for the entire day. They didn't notice us until Hendrix helped me stand in front of Suanne. She only came back to her senses when our shadows fell on her face. "Hendrix! You're here. Let us go. We can't stay here anymore. Please, let me and your father go..."

Nathan looked over as well, but he gave them a very condescending glare.
