After being startled for some time, she tried her best to calm down and returned to being her usual serious self.

However, her efforts were all in vain. When she tried to change the topic, she had accidently revealed her real thoughts.

"Daddy, I just remembered that there's something important that I have to do back in the Cultural City and I need to get it done by today. Is it okay if I leave now?"

Anne sounded fearless and straightforward. However, when she noticed Hendrix's sharp eyes, she immediately lost her confidence and shrunk away.

Even I was shocked by Hendrix's glare. I thought that there was some misunderstanding between them. So, I quickly got up and held on to Hendrix's arm to prevent the situation getting worse. I said, "Calm down and take it slow. You're scaring her."

It was as if Hendrix couldn't hear me. He continued staring at Anne, as though he were trying to figure out what she was thinking.

It lasted for a few seconds before Anne finally gave in. She looked down and was very upset.

"When did you find out?" Hendrix asked coldly.

"Find out about what?" I was confused. I looked at Anne and then back at him. I had no clue what they were talking about.

Anne lowered down her head even further and tried to change the subject. "I don't understand what you're talking about. Since we're done here, I'll need to head back. After what happened yesterday, I wouldn' want anything to happen at Cultural City. Please let me leave."

Hendrix continued.
