There was nothing unusual in the medical report.

But that tiny spot on the scan-Isadora was almost certain it was the embryo.

She stared at it for a long time, biting her lower lip. Finally, she took out her phone and called Nanette.

Nanette was on set filming a night scene, but she managed to pick up when she saw Isadora's call.

"Isadora, what's going on?"

Isadora drew a shaky breath, her voice hoarse. "Nanette, I've made up my mind. I... I can't keep this baby. Do you have time in the next couple of days to come with me... for the procedure?"

Nanette was drinking water and almost choked at that. Hadn't Isadora just promised to think things over carefully? It had barely been two days-how could she decide so fast?

Worried Isadora might regret this decision someday, Nanette stalled for time. "I'm in the middle of shooting an important scene, and the director won't let anyone off set. I can't get away until next week at the earliest."

Isadora pressed her lips together tightly. "Alright. I'll make the appointment myself then."

Nanette hesitated. “Isadora, why the sudden rush? Are you sure? Maybe you should give it a bit more thought."

A bitter smile touched Isadora's lips. "Nanette, both Victor and I are going to move on with our own lives. This child would just tie us together in ways I don't want."
