He reached out and felt under her nose-a faint breath still lingered.

After Victor left, Isadora began to take in her surroundings. Her gaze finally settled on a long row of meticulously arranged model cars. Each one was crafted in precise detail, some even complete with tiny license plates.

She couldn't help but smile. To this day, she'd lost count of how many cars Victor actually owned. At the very least, since she'd met him, no one she knew swapped out cars as brazenly or as often as he did.

Her eyes wandered next to a wall lined with framed awards. Curious, she stepped closer.

Boxing, racing, swimming, mountain climbing-even a certificate for trekking through the Amazon wilderness. Each one was a testament to Victor's relentless pursuit of challenges.

Next to the awards, several black picture frames were propped up. Every single one featured Pudding, Victor's beloved dog. Some photos showed Pudding bounding across green lawns, others captured the pup curled up, fast asleep and utterly adorable.
